The Miami Heat presently occupy a playoff place in the Eastern Conference rankings and are attempting to secure the sixth seed and avoid the play-in games. They are 7-6 in March and need to pick up as many victories as possible. Their next game is on the road against the Toronto Raptors on Tuesday, and they may be missing crucial guard Kyle Lowry. According to Ira Winderman of The South Florida Sun-Sentinel, Kyle Lowry is classified as doubtful on the Heat’s injury report versus the Raptors.

Kyle Lowry’s season has been hindered by injuries, and he has only recently returned to the lineup after missing 15 straight games. He used to be the Heat’s starting point guard, but he’s been coming off the bench since his comeback. Given that Lowry participated in the Heat’s most recent game against the Brooklyn Nets on Friday, his presence on the injury report might be a precaution ahead of the team’s back-to-back against the New York Knicks on Wednesday.

This season, Lowry has averaged 11.6 points per game, 4.2 rebounds, 5.1 assists, and 1.0 steals while shooting 40.7 percent from the field, 35.1 percent from three-point range, and 85.4 percent from the free-throw line. Following the Heat’s journey to the NBA Finals in 2020, Lowry was expected to be the missing piece for a title contender. Sadly for the Heat, that has not been the case. The Heat are now 40-35, tied with the Nets for sixth place in the East and out of the play-in games.

Will Kyle Lowry play?

Kyle Lowry will most likely not be in the starting lineup when the Toronto Raptors visit Scotiabank Arena tomorrow. The 37-year-old veteran point guard has appeared in each of the Miami Heat’s last six games, coming off the bench. After missing time with a left knee injury from February 4 to March 10, Lowry has returned to the bench regularly for the first time since the 2012-13 season, his first with the Raptors. Following nine seasons with the Raptors, Lowry signed a three-year, $85 million contract with the Miami Heat in the summer of 2021 as part of a sign-and-trade that brought Goran Dragic and Precious Achiuwa to Toronto.
