The game between the Indiana Pacers and Milwaukee Bucks will take place at Gainbridge Fieldhouse on Friday, January 27 at 7:00 PM ET.
The Indiana Pacers will welcome the Milwaukee Bucks to Gainbridge Fieldhouse for an NBA game on Friday. The Pacers lost 126-120 in their last game over the Magic. Bennedict Mathurin came off the Pacers’ bench to score 26 points for the second straight game, and Myles Turner added 22 points and 13 rebounds for Indiana, which was coming off a 116-110 win over Chicago a night earlier.
Buddy Hield hit his first five 3-point shots and finished with 21 points. The Pacers fell behind 11-0 and never caught up, losing for the eighth time in nine games since NBA assist leader Tyrese Haliburton went out with a sprained left knee and sprained left elbow. Hield hit three 3-pointers in the second quarter as the Pacers got back within two points before trailing 73-68 at halftime.
“Lousy first quarter. We’ve got to get off to better starts,” Pacers coach Rick Carlisle said. “They hit us with a lot of shots, drives to the basket, and we were on our heels. The second night of a back to back is not an excuse because we’ve been good all year in those situations.”
The Bucks on the other hand won 107-99 against the Nuggets in their last game. Giannis Antetokounmpo’s ability to keep getting to the free-throw line assured the Milwaukee Bucks would outlast the short-handed Denver Nuggets.
Antetokounmpo had 33 points and 14 rebounds Wednesday night as the Bucks won 107-99 over the Nuggets, who were playing without two-time reigning MVP Nikola Jokic and three other usual starters. Antetokounmpo went 15 of 22 from the line and was two off his career high in free-throw attempts. All but one of those free-throw tries came in the second half.
“Just tried to get to the rim, tried to be aggressive as much as I can, get downhill, play within my strength,” Antetokounmpo said. “I tried to enjoy the game. I feel I sometimes get too locked in. And I think I’ve got to enjoy the game more. Usually when I enjoy the game more, I get to the free-throw line more, I get downhill more, I’m able to find my teammates more and just make better plays.”
