The Indiana Pacers will welcome the Brooklyn Nets to the Gainbridge Fieldhouse for an NBA game on Saturday. The Pacers won 121-111 in their last game over the Wizards. Buddy Hield scored a season-high 28 points, Tyrese Haliburton had 23 points and 11 assists and the Indiana Pacers beat the Washington Wizards 121-111 on Friday night. Hield made 12 of 19 shots, including four 3-pointers.
“Buddy is an underrated basketball player,” Pacers coach Rick Carlisle said. “He knows the game. He understands timing and movement. He drives it better than people think. When he’s tuned into it, he passes the ball extremely well. At the core, he’s a guy that’s a scorer. That’s who he is and we have to understand that and celebrate that. Tonight was a night where we needed him desperately.”
The Nets on the other hand won 120-116 against the Hawks in their last game. Kevin Durant scored 34 points, Kyrie Irving had 33 points and 11 rebounds. TJ Warren added 14 points and Ben Simmons returned from a four-game absence with a left calf strain with six points, seven rebounds and six assists as the Nets won for the ninth time in 12 games overall.
Simmons said the successful homestand meant a lot to the Nets, who improved to 15-12 after a 1-5 start. “We know we’ve got a long way to go,” Simmons said. “A lot of guys have been in and out of the rotation obviously so it’s changing a lot, but we’re just staying focused and we’re building day by day.”
