The Houston Rockets will welcome the Portland Trail Blazers to the Toyota Center for an NBA game on Saturday. The Rockets lost 108-111 in their last game over the Heat. Jalen Green led Houston with 22 points on 8-of-21 shooting. Kevin Porter Jr. added 21, Jabari Smith Jr. had 15 points and 11 rebounds, and Alperen Sengun finished with 12 points.
The Rockets rallied back in the third quarter, cutting Miami’s lead to 86-85 entering the fourth. Porter missed a 3 in the closing seconds that would have tied it. “Any shot I put up, I feel like I can make,” Porter said. “Personally, I would have liked it in the flow of that rebound on that last stop, but we had to play against a set defense, and Miami is good when they get a chance to set their defense up. It was a tough shot I can make. I missed it.”
The Blazers on the other hand lost 130-110 against the Mavericks in their last game. Doncic and Lillard sat the entire fourth quarter — along with the rest of Portland’s starters — with both teams on the first night of a back-to-back. Doncic went to the locker room with 6:40 remaining.
“We didn’t have it,” Portland coach Chauncey Billups said. “We’ll talk about why we didn’t have it. I wanted to be smart about it. We’re in a tough little stretch. Got to know when to fold ’em.”
