The Golden State Warriors will welcome the Orlando Magic to the Chase Center for an NBA game on Saturday. The Warriors lost 119-122 in their last game over the Pistons. Thompson secured a defensive rebound with 27 seconds left but Jordan Poole turned the ball over before the Warriors could attempt a shot.
Thompson scored on a layup with 40 seconds left to pull Golden State to 117-116 then delivered again — and the Warriors appeared headed to overtime for a second straight game after holding off Atlanta 143-141 in double-OT on Monday night. “It never feels good,” Thompson said. “I thought we fought very hard tonight.”
The Magic on the other hand lost 115-123 against the Grizzlies in their last game. Banchero made three free throws to bring the Magic back within 12 late in the third, but Morant closed the period with a short jumper, and the Grizzlies regained a 21-point lead with three 3-pointers (two by Williams) early in the fourth.
Orlando rallied behind Wagner in the fourth quarter and cut the Grizzlies’ lead to six on Caleb Houstan’s 3-pointer with 1:53 remaining. But Morant drew a sixth foul on Magic center Wendell Carter Jr., and scored Memphis’ final three points from the foul line.
