The Golden State Warriors will welcome Nikola Jokic’s Denver Nuggets to the Chase Center for an NBA game on Friday. The Warriors won their first game comprehensively as they defeated the Los Angeles Lakers 123-109 on opening night. Stephen Curry had a great game as he top scored with 33 points and also had 6 rebounds and dished out 7 assists.
After the game, Curry said, “You just try to build chemistry and that’s the goal, to try to win games in the process of learning. Lots of young guys getting an opportunity early in the season because we are going to need them throughout the year and hopefully in the playoffs.”
The Denver Nuggets on the other hand lost their first game of the season 123-102 to the Utah Jazz. Nikola Jokic led the scoring as expected as he dropped 27 points and had 6 assists and 4 rebounds. Aaron Gordon played well too as he scored 22 points and had 10 rebounds. Michael Porter Jr and Jamal Murray started the game and finished with 15 and 12 points respectively.
Nuggets coach Michael Malone spoke to the press after the game and said, “In that first half, Jazz outworked us and I think to a man everyone in the locker room would agree. We looked like a different team, felt like a different team. But in this league you can’t pick and choose when you play.”
