The Dallas Mavericks will head to the Capital One Arena for a matchup against their Eastern Conference rivals, the Washington Wizards on Friday, November 11. While the Mavs are coming into the encounter on the back of a disappointing loss to the Orlando Magic, the Wizards were able to secure a win against the Charlotte Hornets in their last outing.
In what seemed like a game the Orlando Magic would struggle, as they were playing without rookie sensation Paolo Banchero, the team shocked everyone with their performance. The Mavs put in a great display in the first half and were in the game until the third quarter. But the fourth quarter is when the Orlando Magic took things under control. Led by Franz Wagner’s 22-point performance, the Eastern Conference side eventually took a 94-87 win to hand Dallas their fourth defeat of the season.
Meanwhile, the Washington Wizards came out on top against a Charlotte Hornets side, who were extremely competitive on the night. The Wizards took the court without Bradley Beal, however, their offense showed no signs of slowing down. Kyle Kuzma and Kristaps Porzingis combined to score 39 points for the team from the Captial. PJ Washington and Kelly Oubre Jr. added 45 points combined, but their efforts were not enough to deny a 108-100 loss for the Hornets. The Wizards will be looking to carry the momentum from the win into their encounter against the Mavericks and get to their sixth triumph of the season.
