Spencer Dinwiddie scored a 3-point buzzer-beater as the Dallas Mavericks ran out winners 113-111, against the in-form Brooklyn Nets. The Nets couldn’t keep up their recent impressive run against the team from Dallas as Kyrie Irving was unavailable due to the game being played at the Barclays Center. Dinwiddie followed up his heroics against Boston from Sunday night and came up with another clutch performance after Kevin Durant gave the Nets a one-point lead with a 3-pointer with 10 seconds to play.

Doncic brought the ball upfield and passed it to the former Net, Dinwiddie, who sank the 3-point jumper, right in front of the Nets bench and wheeled away in celebration.

The man of the moment, Dinwiddie, who still has friends in Brooklyn said after the game, “It’s like sticking it to your cousin versus, like, being vengeful for an enemy.”

Dinwiddie also thanked Mavs general manager, Nico Harrison for acquiring him from the Washington Wizards last month.

It’s the first time in his career he has hit game-winners in consecutive games.

Luka Doncic finished the game with 37 points, nine rebounds and nine assists while Dinwiddie scored 22 points, 15 in the fourth and final quarter.

Kevin Durant disappointed

Kevin Durant had 23 points, 10 assists and six rebounds as the Nets had their four-game winning streak snapped. Goran Dragic scored an impressive 21 points and Bruce Brown followed it up with 17. Big man Andre Drummond had 14 points and 17 rebounds.

One night removed from Kyrie Irving’s record-breaking performance, the team from Brooklyn were short on offence with their All-Star guard missing from action due to New York’s vaccine mandate.

Durant was often double-teamed and in some instances, even triple-teamed as Jason Kidd’s team looked to put the clamps on the star man.

“When you watch that last play, just regret, wondering what the game would have been like if I didn’t go jump Luka right there, you know what I’m saying?” Durant said. “So in hindsight, I wish I would have made a different decision, but it is what it is”, concluded Durant.

Durant scored at the beginning of the fourth quarter to give the Nets a 93-79 lead but his team only had one basket in the next four minutes and a scintillating 15-2 run by the Mavericks cut down the lead massively.

Brooklyn went back ahead by six midway through the fourth quarter before the Mavs scored eight straight to take a 104-102 lead on Maxi Kleber’s free throws with 3 minutes to play.
