The Brooklyn Nets will take on the Minnesota Timberwolves in an NBA Summer League game at the Cox Pavilion on July 14. Both teams are heading into this encounter on the back of disappointing defeats in their previous games.
The Nets were up against a strong-looking Memphis Grizzlies side. Once again it was Cam Thomas, who stepped up for them. He scored 29 points on 47.4% shooting from the field. The youngster has been the biggest positive for the Nets in the Summer League. He has averaged 28.7 PPG in the tournament. Despite his best effort, the team has only won two out of three games. Against the Grizzlies, Thomas was unable to nail a single three-pointer. However, his mid-range game proved to be lethal. A big night from high was not enough as the Grizzlies walked away with a comfortable 120-84 win.
Meanwhile, the Minnesota Timberwolves faced a defeat against the Milwaukee Bucks on Wednesday. Kevon Harris led the way with 16 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Wendell Moore Jr. and Marial Shayok also chipped in with 13 and 11 points respectively. Minnesota had control of the game until the third quarter. However, the Bucks stood tall in the fourth quarter and contained the Wolves to merely 12 points. This paved the way for a stunning 87-75 win for the Bucks.
Both teams have not submitted their injury report ahead of this game. If it all works well and no casualties are reported until the tip-off, the coaches will most definitely have all their players available for selection.
