The Boston Celtics will welcome the Toronto Raptors to the TD Garden for an NBA preseason game on Wednesday. The Celtics won their first preseason game comprehensively against the Charlotte Hornets with the score reading 134-93. Jaylen Brown had a great game as he scored 24 points and had five rebounds during his time on the pitch. Jayson Tatum for his part dropped 16 points and had six rebounds.
Sam Hauser who scored 14 points and had an overall good game with three rebounds and two assists said after the game, “It’s only one game, but it was good to get back out there and play with these guys and get used to playing with them and off of them. Making some shots help. Good confidence booster and hopefully can keep it rolling.”
The Toronto Raptors on the other hand won their first preseason game 114-82 against the Utah Jazz. There was not one standout performance as the entire team pitched in and scored in what was a comfortable win. Chris Boucher scored 111 points while Precious Achiuwa and Josh Jackson dropped 10 points each for Toronto. Pascal Siakam played 16 minutes and had seven points and four rebounds during his time on the court.
Toronto head coach Nick Nurse has high expectations for Scottie Barnes and said, “He’s kind of an organizing, pass-first type of guy. He likes that position, point guard. He likes that behind his name. So we’ll see if we can develop that out a little bit.”
