The Adelaide 36ers will visit the Paycom Center for a preseason game against the OKC Thunder on Thursday. Thunder are coming into this game on the back of a close loss to the Dallas Mavericks. Point Guard Josh Giddey scored a team-high 13 points on the night to keep things tight. He also grabbed 3 steals, but in the end, the Mavs had just done enough to squeeze a narrow 98-96 win.

The OKC will miss their rookie sensation Chet Holmgren going into the season. Although they have others like Giddey, Shai Gilegeous – Alexander and Lu Dort, he was touted to be the missing piece of the young OKC team. With him out, SGA and Giddey will have to once again lead the way from the front. They were sensational last season, but the lack of experience led to their yet another poor finish in the West. However, with the two now having played an entire season together, the Thunder could very well be an exciting team to watch.

Their opponents for the preseason game, the Adelaide 36ers shocked the NBA world as they pulled off a major upset over the Phoenix Suns. Led by R Franks, who scored 32 points, the Australian side were able to hand the Suns a 134-124 loss on October 2. They added 71 points in the first half alone, to put pressure on the last season’s Western Conference leaders. The 36ers will be looking to carry the momentum from that win into the game against the OKC Thunder. If they continue playing high-octane basketball, the team from Adelaide could very well pull off another win against an NBA side.
