Valentino Rossi is considered one of the greatest motorcycle racers of all time. The Italian is known to be quite competitive in nature, with the fierce rivalry shared with opponents: Max Biaggi, Sete Gibernau, Casey Stoner, Jorge Lorenzo and Marc Márquez indicating his ruthless mentality. Rossi even went to the extent of punching Biaggi following the 2001 500cc GP in Barcelona, having emerged victorious by a margin of 2.5 seconds. However, he also has a fine sense of humour which very few fans might know. The Italian’s press conferences during the 2011 and 2012 seasons where he struggled to perform, witnessed the presence of very few journalists. Only two journalists were present at the media debrief after he finished ninth at Silverstone. Rossi had a funny quip up his sleeve, terming it as “exactly the right number for ninth place.”.
