Fazel Atrachali is an Iranian kabaddi star who is the current captain of Gujarat Giants in the VIVO Pro Kabaddi League as well as the Iran National kabaddi team. Known for his exceptional performance in the league, Atrachali is the only international player among the top 10 in terms of tackle points in the history of the league. He was named the Best Defender of the Season in the fourth edition of VIVO Pro Kabaddi. He is the highest-earning foreign player in the league, with a remarkable total of 424 tackle points.
Atrachali started playing kabaddi at the age of 11 in his hometown, Gorgan, Iran. He represented Iran in the 2010 and 2014 Asian Games and was the team’s captain in the 2018 edition. In his second season, he scored 12 points in five matches. The Season 3 saw him score 32 tackle points and one raid point across 11 matches.
For Patna Pirates in Season 4, Atrachali emerged as a top defender as he led in tackle points with 52 in 16 matches and won the Pro Kabaddi title and the Best Defender Award. He then moved to Gujarat Fortunegiants in Season 5, with 57 tackle points and led the team to the final. U Mumba brought him back in Season 6 and made him the captain, and he scored 83 tackle points. In Season 7, he was again impressive as he earned the Best Defender title again with 82 tackle points. In international play, Atrachali was part of Iran’s World Cup team that reached the final and captained the team to a gold Medal at the Asian Games 2018.
