Phase one of the Pro Kabaddi League got underway on October 7, 2022, at the Sree Kanteerava Stadium Indoor Stadium in Bengaluru. The season nine of the league will be played in three phases. Pune’s Shree Shiv Chhatrapati Sports Complex and Hyderabad are the venues where the second and third phases will be staged. Delhi defeated Patna Pirates in the season 8 PKL final to win the championship the previous season with a thrilling 37-36 victory.
UP Yoddhas will face Bengaluru Bulls in the second match on October 16. UP Yoddhas are placed eighth on the table with just one victory in three matches. In their previous game, the Yoddhas looked to have gained their momentum back as they gave stiff competition to the in-form and reigning champion Dabang Delhi. Although they narrowly lost to Delhi 42-44, there were a lot of positives to take ahead of their match against Bengaluru Bulls. While the Bulls lost their previous game by 33-42 to Bengal Warriors and are standing sixth in the points table.
