Phase one of the Pro Kabaddi League got underway on October 7, 2022, at the Sree Kanteerava Stadium Indoor Stadium in Bengaluru. The season nine of the league will be played in three phases. Pune’s Shree Shiv Chhatrapati Sports Complex and Hyderabad are the venues where the second and third phases will be staged. Delhi defeated Patna Pirates in the season 8 PKL final to win the championship the previous season with a thrilling 37-36 victory.
Tamil Thalaivas will be eyeing to win their first game of the tournament as they battle U Mumba in the opening game on October 14, 2022. The Thalaivas, with one draw and one loss, are placed tenth on the points table currently. They lost 22-27 to Haryana Steelers in their previous match as young sensation Manjeet Dahiya and Jaideep produced solid performances. While an in-experienced U Mumba side put up a great show to clinch their first victory in their last game against UP Yoddhas by 30-23.
