Before the Pro Kabaddi League 2022 auction, Jaipur Pink Panthers had retained their best raider from the previous season, Arjun Deshwal. Arjun impressed the most in the last edition by scoring a total of 267 raid points. He even secured the second position on the list of ‘Most Raid Points’. The Panthers didn’t rope Deepak Niwas Hooda who was one of the invaluable players for them over the past few years. However, the addition of Rahul Chaudhari and V. Ajith Kumar makes the raiding department stronger. Ajith had a phenomenal last season as he collected 159 raid points in 20 matches for U Mumba. The team signed defender Sunil Kumar in this year’s auction who has scored 202 tackle points altogether in his Pro Kabaddi career. On paper, the defense department of Jaipur seems a little fragile. But they have some quality players who have got aggressive gameplay and can prove to be dangerous during the tournament.
In the previous edition, the Panthers started well but lost momentum in the middle. They finished their campaign with 10 wins from the 22 games that they played. The Jaipur Pink Panthers were the champions in the inaugural edition of the tournament. In season 4, they narrowly missed out on winning the title after losing to Patna Pirates. However, since then, their performance in the league has been downgraded with an eighth and seventh finish in the last couple of seasons.
