Gujarat Giants, previously known as Gujarat Fortune Giants, is a two-time finalist in the Pro Kabaddi League (PKL). The team had retained seven players prior to the Season 9 auction. The franchise entered the auction with the highest purse among all the teams. They went on to bid for raiders Pardeep Narwal and Sachin Tanwar and eventually won the bid too. Unfortunately, their last franchise used FBM cards to get them back to their sides. As a result of which, they had to return without buying any ‘A’ category players from the auction with INR 54.99 lakh remaining in their purse. They will rely on Rakesh HS as the prime raider who collected 140 raid points, comprising five super 10s in the last edition. Baldev Singh and Rinku Narwal will lead the defense unit of the Giants.

The Giants made their debut at the PKL in 2017. Since then, they have made two final appearances in 2017 and 2018. However, they finished as runner-up on both occasions against Patna Pirates and Bengaluru Bulls. In the previous edition, the team ended their campaign finishing at a respectable fourth position.
