Naveen Kumar, the reigning Pro Kabaddi MVP, continued where he left off last season, scoring 16 points to lead Dabang Delhi K.C. to a 41-30 victory over Puneri Paltan. Delhi’s all-rounder Vijay scored eight points, while Paltan’s Nitin Tomar led the team with seven. The Paltan were the first to attack and took the lead early in the game. However, Naveen’s five quick raid points reduced the Paltan to just one player on the mat. Manjeet Chillar’s first tackle point of the season was instrumental in Delhi inflicting the game’s first All Out and taking a 10-5 lead.

Nitin Tomar and Rahul Chaudhari attempted a comeback, but Delhi corners Sandeep Narwal and Joginder Narwal sent the Paltan raiders to the bench. Naveen continued to plague Paltan’s defence, and Delhi quickly inflicted another All Out to increase their lead to 11.

The Paltans finished the half stronger, thanks to three raid points from Tomar and a couple of strong tackles from their defence, as Delhi led 22-15 at the half.

With Naveen on the bench, Paltan turned up the heat in the second half, inflicting an All Out to reduce Delhi’s lead to four points. Naveen came off the bench to score a couple of points, completing his 22nd straight Super 10 in the competition and helping Delhi put some distance between themselves and Paltan on the scoreboard.

The Showman was pinned down by Delhi’s defence, allowing them to inflict a third All Out on the Paltan and take a 37-26 lead. Before the clock ran out, he added a couple more points to his tally, confirming Delhi’s winning start to the season.
