Seamus Power finished 72 holes on 19-under 265 and defeated Belgium's Thomas Detry by a shot at Port Royal Golf Club in Southampton.
Seamus Power of Ireland clinched the Bermuda Championship on October 23, 2022, his second PGA Tour triumph, following a final-round collapse on the back nine by USA’s newcomer Ben Griffin. Power finished 72 holes on 19-under 265 and defeated Belgium’s Thomas Detry by a shot at Port Royal Golf Club in Southampton. This is his second PGA win as he earned his only previous PGA win at last year’s Barbasol Championship.
The Irishman bogeyed the par-3 13th, then birdied the 14th to take the lead for the first time on Sunday, before bogeying the 15th and the par-3 16th. Power, who was the only player in the same Bermuda event with three birdies at the 16th, bogeyed in 30-mph winds, cutting his advantage to a single shot. At the par-5 17th, Power answered by making a birdie. However, after missing the green on his shot, he pitched to the green and made a two-putt bogey to secure his second win.
India’s Arjun Atwal started the week strong but finished it quietly with a 2-over 73 that caused him to place T-49. Atwal began the final round with a birdie but suffered two bogeys on the third and ninth holes after opening with an incredible 8-under 63. He made bogeys on holes 16 and 18 on the back nine, with a birdie on hole 17.
