Vincent Kompany is a former Belgian international and the current manager of Anderlecht. He was born on April 10th, 1986 in Uccle, Belgium. Vincent Kompany is currently managing the Belgian club Anderlecht after retiring from professional football in 2020. During his playing career, he was considered one of the best defenders to play for various clubs like Hamburg, Manchester City, and Anderlecht. The best highlights of his career came with Manchester City as a captain, where he was highly successful as he won four Premier League titles.
The Belgian defender started his career with the youth team of Anderlecht. In 2003, he made his first professional debut for the same club. During his time with the club, he earned the Belgian Golden Shoe as well as the Belgian Ebony Shoe awards. After three seasons with the Belgian club, Kompany earned a move to the Bundesliga with Hamburg SV in 2006.At the German club, he established himself as one of the pillars of their defence and was rock solid in protecting the backline. In 2008, English club Manchester City noticed how brilliant he was, and just being 22, Man City couldn’t hold back and lured him to England. Right after his arrival at the club, he established himself as one of the integral parts of the team. He is still considered one of the best bargain buys in the club’s history as his influence was clearly visible. Vincent Kompany was appointed captain in 2011-12 as a result of his growing influence at the club. His role came with great responsibilities and he fulfilled them all. Under him, Manchester City got their first Premier League title in 2012, after 44 long years. After that, he successfully guided his team to three more PL titles in 2014, 2018, and 2019.
Vincent Kompany was truly successful as a Manchester City player. At the club, he won four Premier League titles, two FA Cups, four EFL Cups, and two Community Shields. Moreover, during his time at Anderlecht, he won the Belgian Pro League in 2003/04 and 2005/06. That’s not all. Even at Hamburg, he won the UEFA Intertoto Cup in 2007/08 (the cup was abolished in 2008). In terms of individual success, he won the Young Belgian Player of the Year in 2004 and helped Belgium to a 3rd place finish in the 2018 FIFA World Cup.

Vincent Kompany and Carla Kompany-Higgs met each other when Kompany was playing for Hamburg. The couple married on June 11, 2011 and she adopted the surname Kompany.
They are the parents of two children. Sienna, a daughter, was born on the 10th of June, 2010. Kai was born in October of 2013 to the couple.
