James Maddison is a professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for English club Leicester City and the England national team. Maddison signed a five-year contract with Premier League team Leicester City on June 20, 2018. On August 18, he scored his first Premier League goal in a 2-0 victory over Wolverhampton Wanderers. Later, he built on his strong debut for the team with back-to-back goals from set pieces in the Premier League, against AFC Bournemouth and Huddersfield Town, respectively. He and Leicester came to terms on a brand-new, four-year contract on July 29, 2020. In a 5-2 victory over Manchester City on September 27, 2020, Maddison scored a curling goal outside the box that was ultimately chosen as the Premier League Goal of the Month.

Maddison was a member of the England under-21 team in March 2016, however he was injured and was unable to participate. In a 2019 UEFA Under-21 Championship qualifier against Ukraine, he made his UEFA Under-21 Championship debut. Maddison made his debut for England on June 24 in a 3-3 draw with Croatia at the San Marino Stadium after being named to the 23-man squad for the 2019 UEFA European Under-21 Championship on May 27. For the UEFA Nations League games against Croatia and Spain in October 2018, he received his first call-up to the senior team. He was announced as a member of the 26-man England squad for the 2022 FIFA World Cup following an absence of three years. He did not, however, play in the tournament.
Maddison is a player who excels when in possession and playing aggressively. Given the kind of direct attacks from which Leicester are very threatening, his vision and ability to crack defenders is a great advantage. He assumes useful positions between the lines and is capable of delivering precise passes that crack the defence of his opponents, allowing forward runners to chase. Although he frequently plays in front of the opposing midfield, Maddison is hard to defend against because he is constantly trying to play a dangerous pass.
Maddison is currently dating Kennedy Alexa. They met each other in 2020 and have been together since then.
James Maddison has one baby boy with his partner Alexa. Their son, Leo was born in July 2021.
Alexa has had a successful modelling career, having done work for American swimsuit company Montce and the online store Princess Polly. Prior to returning to the United Kingdom in 2020, Alexa had previously resided in Los Angeles. She has around 59k followers on Instagram and posts regularly.
