Borussia Dortmund will be hoping to maintain their form in pre-season when they face lower division German club SC Verl. The Bundesliga side will head into a new direction under Edin Terzic in the upcoming season. Dortmund had let go of Marco Rose in the summer and are now planning for life with Terzic in the dugout. They have seen a lot of incomings and outgoings already happening at the club. Due to the superior quality, they should be the heavy favourites against Verl, who are also well underway in their pre-season preparations.

Borussia Dortmund have been extremely busy in the transfer window. There have been a lot of movements in the club with both incomings and outgoings. None bigger than centre-forward Erling Braut Haaland leaving them for Premier League champions Manchester City. Besides, Axel Witsel, Marcel Schmelzer and Dan-Axel Zagadou have also departed the club this summer.
However, the club has been extremely active in the window, by already bringing in several players. Karim Adeyemi, Sebastien Haller, Salih Ozcan, Nico Schlotterbeck and Niklas Sule have so far joined the club. It is not clear how many of them might play on Thursday. As for Verl, they will miss the services of defender Barne Pernot. Other than that, they should have a good squad to choose from for Thursday’s battle.
