Thibaut Courtois is rightfully considered as one of the best goalkeepers in the world. The Belgian has continued to develop and elevate his game even further year after year. Subject of media scrutiny, harsh criticisms, struggles, Courtois has faced it all but has still come out strong enough and is now enjoying the best time of his career. His trophy cabinet, accolades, accomplishments can hardly be matched by any other goalkeeper in the world. Courtois is the recipient of FIFA World Cup Golden Glove, The Best FIFA Goalkeeper of the Year, multiple Zamora trophies and also a Premier League Golden Glove.
Courtois has travelled a lot across Europe playing for various clubs from different countries. After humble beginnings with Genk in Belgium, Courtois earned a big move to the Premier League with Chelsea. The Belgian was loaned out to Atletico Madrid, where he really made a name for himself. The shot stopper played a key role in Atletico's run to the Champions League final in 2014. He returned to Chelsea and after four successful years, Real Madrid came calling. After a tough first season at the Bernabeu, Courtois really found his feet and has since then produced splendid performances. His display in the 2022 Champions League final was hailed as one of the best goalkeeper displays ever.
Due to his tall stature, Courtois is able to cover a good distance of the goal and that allows him to enjoy a higher save percentage. As the years have passed by, he has improved on his ball distribution which has added another key dimension to his game.
