The eagerly-awaited new home kit for Manchester United was unveiled on Thursday. It is inspired by the home kits of the 1960s and TeamViewer’s name adorns the shirt, beneath the Adidas logo and Manchester United crest, to give it a classic look. It is to be noted that TeamViewer has been unveiled as the club’s new principal shirt partner. After finishing second in the Premier League table behind Manchester City last season, manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will be eager to go one step further this time around. And the club plans to reach the summit by donning a jersey inspired by their kits of the 1960s.

The club website says, “The launch of the club’s 2021/22 home kit takes inspiration from the success of both our great club and city, having two worlds collide to create a home kit with heritage at the forefront of its design. It is inspired by the home kits of the 1960s and a time when our fans cheered on legends such as George Best, Sir Bobby Charlton and Denis Law, to name just a few. This home kit celebrates those that came before us and led us to some of our greatest moments. Now it’s time for a new generation to leave a mark.

“TeamViewer’s name adorns the shirt, beneath the adidas logo and iconic Manchester United crest, to make this home shirt feel like an instant classic, whilst the ribbed collar and cuffs lock in comfort and a heritage feel. Truly a once-in-a-generation shirt, the 2021/22 home kit features finer details that highlight the core values of our club, with the words ‘youth, courage and success’ decorating the inner-collar.”

Going back in time for Manchester United

The shirt seems to have a simple classic look, with gold trimmings throughout and a gold devil at the neck, shorts, and socks. Manchester United stars Paul Pogba, Harry Maguire, Bruno Fernandes and Luke Shaw were some of the players who modeled the new kit. The club’s website adds, “The 2021/22 home kit is a celebration of everything that Manchester United stands for, and its deep-rooted connection to community, both locally and globally.”

The players will likely debut the new home kit in Sunday’s first pre-season friendly, against Derby County at Pride Park Stadium. After the match against Derby, the club will then face Queens Park Rangers at the Kiyan Prince Foundation Stadium on 24 July, before returning to the northwest ahead of further fixtures with Brentford (28 July), Preston (31 July) and Everton (7 August).

TeamViewer unveiled as new shirt partner

TeamViewer has been unveiled as Manchester United’s new principal shirt partner following the launch of the new home kit for the 2021-22 season. The new shirt was presented by Adidas, just under a month before it will be worn in the Premier League for the first time for the visit of Leeds United to Old Trafford on 14 August, and in several pre-season friendlies before then, according to the club’s website.

Richard Arnold, Manchester United Managing Director, said, “The launch of our new home kit is an exciting moment before the start of every season and especially so this year as we welcome TeamViewer as our new principal shirt partner.

“While the shirt will be the most visible symbol of our partnership, we are looking forward to using TeamViewer’s technology to drive digitalisation of the club and open new ways for us to connect with our fans. This will bring huge benefits to both of our organisations and, most importantly, to our fans around the world.”
