Iceland will welcome Bosnia & Herzegovina in the ongoing UEFA Euro 2024 Championship qualifiers in the Group J clash. The Bosnians will be bidding to make it back-to-back victories in Group J. The visitors are fourth in the section on six points. They will enter the contest off the back of a 2-1 win over Liechtenstein. On the other hand, Iceland is placed fifth and recently endured a 3-1 loss to Luxembourg.
Iceland famously competed in Euro 2016 and the 2018 World Cup. They progressed to the quarter-finals of the European Championship in their only appearance in the finals of the competition. However, things have changed a lot for the Scandinavians. Iceland thumped Liechtenstein 7-0 at the end of March. But they have been beaten in their last three matches. A win in all three will give them the potential to sneak into the top two in the closing stages of the qualification campaign.
Meanwhile, Bosnia & Herzegovina will enter the match on the back of a 2-1 win over Liechtenstein. Edin Dzeko was early on the scoresheet before an own goal from Simon Luchinger made it 2-0. Meho Kodro’s side is four points behind second-placed Slovakia in the same number of matches. Naturally, this match is important for the Bosnians to pick up the coveted three points. Bosnia-Herzegovina have never qualified for the finals of a European Championship. That can change this time around.
