Fulham have announced the signings of former Liverpool winger Harry Wilson and ex-Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Paulo Gazzaniga. The former signs from Liverpool on a deal that could see the player remain at Craven Cottage until the summer of 2026. Gazzaniga joins on a two-year deal. The goalkeeper will remain at Fulham until the summer of 2023, having signed a deal following the expiry of his Tottenham Hotspur contract last month.

Left-footed attacking midfielder Harry Wilson primarily operates on the right wing. The 24-year-old has also featured on the opposite flank, as well as centrally.

“I’m delighted to sign for Fulham. From my first chat with the Gaffer on the phone, I loved what he was saying and felt that he understood me as a player, and that played a massive role in me coming here. The ambition of the Club to get back into the Premier League appealed to me as that’s where we all want to be. I’m hoping I can come here, have a good season and help get the Club back into the Premier League,” said Wilson in an interaction with Fulham’s official website.

The footballer spent 15 years with Liverpool, with his first taste of senior domestic football coming on loan with League One club Crewe Alexandra as an 18-year-old during the 2015/16 season. This was soon followed by a debut for the English giants the following season. Wilson exploded onto the scene when he was sent on loan to Hull City for the second half of 2017/18. The winger scored seven goals in just 11 Championship starts.

“Fulham is a great club”

Gazzaniga further expressed his excitement after joining Fulham, terming it as a great club.

“Fulham is a great club. I love the challenge and I think this is an excellent opportunity for me. When they spoke of the project here at Fulham the decision was easy. The Championship is a very strong league and I am looking forward to getting started,” said the goalkeeper.

Fulham owner Tony Khan has hailed the additions of the two footballers, with special words of praise for Wilson who he termed as a very productive player.

“I’m delighted to welcome both Harry Wilson and Paulo Gazzaniga to Fulham Football Club this evening. Harry’s been a very productive player in his young career and his arrival greatly strengthens our attack, as Harry has gained valuable experience in the Championship. He helped lead Derby to the Play-Off Final at Wembley in 2019, and he’s an important goalscoring threat who also has provided good service to his teammates and is highly regarded for his contributions on set pieces,” he said.

“We’re thrilled to welcome Paulo to Fulham as well; we believe he’ll be a valuable addition to our squad. He’s had many clubs pursuing him since his contract expired, and I’m glad that he chose to come to Fulham. All of us at the Club are working hard to ensure we give ourselves and the beloved Fulham supporters our best possible chance to succeed this season, and I’m sure that both Harry and Paulo will help us in our pursuit of another promotion! Come on Fulham!,” concluded Khan.
