Ollie Watkins, priced at 8.0 million, scored three goals and provided two assists during Saturday’s match, contributing significantly to Aston Villa’s remarkable 10th consecutive home victory. Moussa Diaby, whose value is 6.7 million, had an outstanding performance on Saturday, getting two assists, which marked his fifth and sixth attacking contributions of the season. His performance was well-rounded, as he also managed to take five shots, with one of them resulting in a deflection off Pervis Estupinan for Villa’s third goal. Unfortunately, Diaby had to leave the game later due to an injury.

Watkins’ Hat-Trick

Ollie Watkins had an astonishing performance on Saturday, collecting an impressive 23 points in Fantasy Premier League, which has made him to the top of the player rankings, surpassing Erling Haaland. In his initial five league appearances this season, the striker had struggled to find the back of the net. However, he had a remarkable afternoon in terms of goal-scoring, taking six shots, the highest in the match. Additionally, he showcased his playmaking abilities by creating five scoring opportunities for his teammates.

“It’s definitely not going to be my last [hat-trick]. It’s an unbelievable feeling to score. When I don’t score I’m annoyed, which is why I work hard every day in training. When I’ve got grass in front of me, I like to run into it. Moussa [Diaby] is so quick, so on the transition I definitely think we’re dangerous. We’ve got a style of play now that [allows us to] take control of the game. We’ve definitely got a few strings to our bow.” – Ollie Watkins

This performance now means that Watkins has a total of 29 goal contributions (17 goals and 12 assists) since Unai Emery took over from Steven Gerrard last year. This places him ahead of all other Fantasy Premier League players, except for Haaland and Mohamed Salah.

Diaby’s Injury

Moussa Diaby, priced at 6.7 million, provided two assists on Saturday, marking his fifth and sixth contributions in attack for the season, in a superb all-around performance. He also took five shots, and it was his attempt that ricocheted off Pervis Estupinan for Villa’s third goal. Unfortunately, he had to leave the game due to an injury. When asked about his condition in the post-match press conference, Emery said:

“I think he [Diaby] has some pain, but I don’t think it’s relevant for the next games. Kamara as well, hopefully not important. We think it’s not important but we will check it.” – Unai Emery

In the same game, Matty Cash, valued at 4.8 million, also played an important role as he assisted Ollie Watkins in scoring the opening goal and earned a bonus point. However, it’s important to mention that he operated as the deeper-lying full-back once more, with only nine touches in the final third, compared to Digne’s 16 touches in that area.
