Dani Alves is widely recognised as one of the greatest full-backs of his time. He started his footballer career by initially playing as a winger but was later re-positioned as a right back. He first made his professional debut for Bahia before joining the Andalusian side, Sevilla in the summer of 2002. He successfully spent six years with Sevilla before joining FC Barcelona in 2008. After a successful eight-season spell with the Catalan giants, Dani Alves signed a two-year deal with Serie A club Juventus in 2016. But a year later, he joined Paris Saint-Germain on a free transfer and likewise returned to his country Brazil in 2019. After spending two years with São Paulo, he returned to Barcelona in 2021.

Career Achievements

While having a stint with Sevilla, Alves went on to win two UEFA Cups and the Copa del Rey. In his first season with FC Barcelona, he won the treble. In the next season, he bagged titles such as the Supercopa de España, UEFA Super Cup, and the FIFA Club World Cup. He also clinched two Supercopa de España, five La Liga titles, and two UEFA Champions League titles. With Juventus, he won the 2016–17 Serie A title and 2016–17 Coppa Italia. Furthermore, his title glory also extended with the French giants PSG.

Dani Carvajal is a player of great talent. He is not much of a goalscorer but is amazing with the ball on the right flank. He is often known for his aggressive style of play, physique, tackles, and ball control. Dani Carvajal’s ability to create space for his teammates plus to push the ball forward is greatly underrated. His attacking abilities too speak for themselves likewise making him one of the best right-backs of his generation. It doesn’t really seem sensible to compare Dani Alves and Cristiano Ronaldo especially when both players have played in totally different positions. Though, Ronaldo started as an attacking playmaker and slowly adapted to being a center-forward at Madrid. Dani Alves too played as a defensive right for most of his life. Both players and their performance is measured differently as well. Ronaldo steals the show with his goals and assists. Meanwhile, Alves is known for his tackles, pass completion rate, and clearances made. Hence, it would be ridiculous to compare the two as both of them are very best playing at their own positions.

Marcelo has been a fantastic aid over the years and has helped Real Madrid dominate world football. His skills and level of excellence are a delight to watch.
