Sir Jackie Stewart is a Scottish-born British former Formula One driver. He was known as the “Flying Scot” because he competed in Formula One from 1965 to 1973, winning three World Drivers’ Championships and finished second twice. Outside of Formula One, he raced in the Can-Am series in 1970 and 1971, and came close to winning the Indianapolis 500 on his maiden attempt in 1966.
