The stage is set for these racers to make their mark in the brand-new, all-female series in 2023 with the participation of 15 of the most promising up-and-coming talents
The first F1 Academy season is getting ready to start with preseason testing in Barcelona, and the drivers are almost ready to take to the track. The stage is set for these racers to make their mark in the brand-new, all-female series in 2023 with the participation of 15 of the most promising up-and-coming talents and five veteran teams from the single-seater ladder. Here are the teams and drivers in the inaugural season of the competition.
With three young athletes who are already known, MP Motorsport will be striving to perform at their highest level in 2023. The Al Qubaisi sisters Hamda and Amna will face off in an exciting matchup while both of them travel in single-seaters and make history. After having success with them in Spanish F4 in 2021, Emely de Heus rejoins MP.

Abbi Pulling, a junior at Alpine Academy, is one of the most recognisable names in the field, and she hopes to lead the British team to victory. After making her single-seater debut in the GB4 Championship in the UK last year, 18-year-old Jessica Edgar will be looking to make the transition smoothly to have a strong start in her new series. Megan Gilkes, a Canadian racer, has already established herself as a race winner in the W Series and GB4, and she will work hard to continue that streak in the F1 Academy while also bringing her unique perspective from her work as a trackside support engineer for Aston Martin during her placement year.

PREMA Racing is eager to maximise the potential of their trio. Chloe Chong, the youngest driver on the grid at 16 years old, previously qualified for the finals of the FIA’s Girls on Track Rising Stars programme. She will be a driver to watch as she moves up from karting. The Italian team will benefit from Marta Garcia’s enthusiasm and experience as the Spanish racer prepares to fight at the front. Bianca Bustamante, who won the top rookie award in the W Series last year, is eager for the challenge ahead and prepared to give it her all.

The team that Nicholas Todt and now-Ferrari Team Principal Frederic Vasseur founded hopes to increase their collection of victories. Lena Buhler, one of the two F1-team affiliated drivers on the grid, was the first driver announced for F1 Academy and will be eager to impress. Carrie Schreiner, who has achieved success in sportscar and GT racing, will be looking for even more when she returns to single-seaters, while Chloe Grant, a 17-year-old Scottish star, is hoping to establish herself in her first season of international competition.

Campos Racing will start out aiming for victory. After two extremely competitive W Series seasons in which she earned podium finishes and her first pole position last year, Nerea Marti will be giving it her all, and Lola Lovinfosse will be aiming to continue her progression from Spanish F4.
