London will be the location of the launch. It will be Alpine’s third F1 vehicle after the Renault team changed its name to reflect its sibling sports car brand prior to the 2021 season. Despite not repeating their victory from 2021, the French-owned, British-based team advanced to fourth place in the constructors’ championship last year. Esteban Ocon’s fourth-place finish in the Japanese Grand Prix was their best finish, however they scored in 19 of the 22 races, and 11 of those saw both cars finish in the points.

The Alpine duo

Pierre Gasly, who joins the squad from AlphaTauri after Fernando Alonso left for Aston Martin, will be Ocon’s partner this season. Despite numerous changes to the team’s administration since it became Alpine, there will be continuity in this year’s management of Alpine. Despite only beginning his position in February 2022, Otmar Sazfnauer will continue to serve as team principal, making him one of the F1 leaders in terms of tenure. Pat Fry serves as chief technology officer, and Matt Harman as technical director.

Reserve driver ?

Who will act as the team’s reserve driver has not yet been disclosed. Before being awarded a spot in the contest to replace Alonso, Oscar Piastri was initially anticipated to stay in his current position. He turned down the position though and went for McLaren, where he will now make his Formula One debut. Jack Doohan, an Australian like Piastri, is currently the front-runner for the position of Alpine reserve. The Formula 2 racer, who is a member of the Alpine Academy, has already participated in team testing and practise sessions for F1.

Leclerc and Vasseur familiarity

Last month, Ferrari revealed Frederic Vasseur would take over for retiring team president Mattia Binotto. Sainz’s teammate Charles Leclerc and Vasseur previously collaborated at ART in GP3 and once more at Sauber when Leclerc made his F1 debut five years ago. Sainz is happy with Ferrari’s selection of the successor to Binotto. He told Autosprint, “From what they’ve told me and from how I’ve known him, I think he’s the proper man. The fact that Leclerc and Vasseur are acquainted with one another is unimportant, according to Sainz. “I don’t believe I’m beginning over. As I previously stated, I’m confident that we’ll get along well, and when he observes me at work, he’ll be pleased with me, the team, and Charles.
