Since the beginning of 2021 in their hotly contested and contentious championship battle season at the end of F1’s last regulations cycle and the conclusion of last season, the two have collided five times, a list that includes many incidents in the first Saudi Arabian Grand Prix. The most of the events happened in 2021, however at the Brazilian GP, which George Russell ultimately won, they crashed once more. Verstappen had dominated the season’s penultimate race while Hamilton was virtually missing owing to the shortcomings of the Mercedes W13. Verstappen subsequently had clean recurring clashes with Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc and Russell after their previous encounter, however he did use dubious tactics when fighting against Haas’s Mick Schumacher late in the 2022 British GP while driving a car with floor damage.

Racing style

Verstappen was questioned about whether it was realistic to call his racing style “uncompromising” in an interview with reporters, especially in light of their recent conflicts with Hamilton. “Well, I have to be careful what I say here, but with everyone I’ve been up against this year, it’s been extremely hard, intense clashes and we never really came together,” the Red Bull driver said. It’s a different story with Lewis, for some reason. And I really have no idea “Like, this year, ok, we haven’t had many fights. However, Brazil is where we ended up; it wasn’t my goal for us to crash there. I felt it wasn’t fair that I was held responsible for it. “I could have handled it if it had been more of a racing event. “But… I don’t comprehend. We are getting along better with one another and perhaps it’s simply a generational issue. It eludes me.

Criticism

Verstappen said why he thinks he should be cautious when talking about racing Hamilton: “Because in England this may very quickly be perceived as criticism. “And after that, I get called out for it. “I always have a lot of respect for Lewis and what he has accomplished in the sport, but I don’t really get why we can’t race as I’ve been doing with the others. Of course, each person approaches things differently. I am aware that Charles differs somewhat from George, Carlos Sainz, Checo Perez, or anyone else. “I do need to be little more circumspect with that because it’s quickly interpreted as criticism. People then start to despise you. That’s not what I meant, though.
