Donald, the modest and timid hero shown in Chapter 259 of Weak Hero, is willing to do everything for his mother. He was a poor kid who had to resort to child labor to make ends meet. However, South Korea is a place where people put their outward appearance above everything else (thus the prevalence of plastic surgery there).
A wealthy mother was not pleased to learn that a slum dweller’s son had performed better than hers. She pleaded with the school administration to be fair for the sake of his son. This apparent paradox is inevitable for people who value public perception so highly.
Donald (who looks like a young Grey) didn’t mind any of this because he had a goal of doing well on tests. If he did well in school, it would make his mom proud, and he would feel more prepared to take on the world. However, this was only temporary, and eventually, the young guy snapped like any other regular person would.
