Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile now has an official moniker and has confirmed speculations, unveiling Verdansk’s return to CoD in the game’s first trailer. Warzone’s original map Verdansk was removed to accommodate Caldera map on December 8, 2021. Since then, players have been asking for the original map to return to the game.

A few months ago, Alex Summers of Activision confirmed that Verdansk will be returning in 2023, but only on “certain platforms.” Many players believed it would make a comeback in Warzone 2, but it seems the developer was hinting at the mobile version of the game.

The news might not be exciting for some, but CoD Mobile has a massive player base. In May, VGC reported the game has 650 million lifetime downloads, six times more than what Warzone achieved in its first year of launch.

The Activision CoD Warzone Mobile teaser trailer wasn’t enough to get concrete information on the game, but for dedicated CoD fans, it is something to cheer about.

Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile brings back Verdansk

During their Mobile Showcase, GameSpot took the wraps off the Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile teaser video. CoD Warzone Mobile’s first trailer shed light on the original Verdansk plane intro, which put all rumors of the return of the map to rest.

The trailer also refrained from showing Verdansk apart from the plane shot, so it’s unclear if there are new POIs or if this is just the original map. Pre-registering for the game enables players to unlock rewards when the game comes out.

Activision will be releasing more information about the battle royale game at CoD Next slated for September 15.
