Warzone 2 will take center stage when it launches on November 16. Its launch will happen just three weeks after Modern Warfare 2 comes out. While Warzone itself is a popular name, Activision and developers Infinity Ward want players to experience a new battle royale, bringing together the BR with MW2 and every CoD game in the coming days.

While the game will still follow the free-to-play approach, there have been rumors suggesting that the game could launch behind the Modern Warfare 2 paywall, but nothing can be said for sure as of now.

Warzone 2 early access

Players might remember that back in March 2020, Modern Warfare (2019) owners were able to try out Warzone a few hours before it launched globally for all players. While the wait time for other players was only around 3 hours, it still allowed MW players to try the new game before anyone else.

Similarly, when Caldera came out, players who had access to Call of Duty: Vanguard was able to try the new map 24 hours early, with non-owners having to wait for some time before the game is made available.

As of now, there has been no information on whether Modern Warfare 2 owners will gain early access to Warzone 2, but that doesn’t mean it can’t happen, as we have seen it in the past.

If the developers do something like this again, it will likely be communicated to players ahead of the game’s launch. It’s also unlikely that this early access could be longer than 24 hours, as the developers wouldn’t want to lock the game away from players for a long time.
