Valve Corporation has announced that the 12th edition of the biggest Dota 2 tournament in the world, The International (TI), will be held in Seattle, USA. The announcement was made during the ESL One Berlin Major 2023, and TI12 will be hosted at the Climate Pledge Arena. This arena will welcome the largest audience in the history of the event. This is exciting news for Dota 2 fans in the Americas, as the tournament is returning to Seattle after a six-year gap. Valve Announces Seattle, USA as the Location for The International 2023 (TI12).

Group Stage and Playoffs to be Held Under The Road to the International Title

The group stage for TI12 will begin on October 14th, and the playoffs will follow. These events will be bundled under one title, The Road to the International, which Valve will reveal more about in the coming weeks. The main event will take place from October 27th to 29th, where the best Dota 2 team in the world will be determined.

Climate Pledge Arena – The First Zero-Carbon Arena in the World

Climate Pledge Arena, which was previously known as KeyArena, is the same venue where previous TIs have been held. The name was changed to Climate Pledge Arena in 2021 after the centre underwent renovation. According to the Seattle Kraken, the Climate Pledge Arena is the first zero-carbon arena in the world. It has a seating capacity of around 18,000, making it an ideal venue for such a massive event.

Confirmed Teams and No Last-Chance Qualifier This Year

So far, only Team Liquid has been confirmed to compete at TI12. The other teams that will participate in the tournament will be selected gradually as the Dota Pro Circuit (DPC) 2023 progresses. There will most likely be no last-chance qualifier this year, as it was a one-time event hosted by Valve last year to combat the travel concerns caused by the pandemic that had prevented many teams from participating in DPC events.

With Valve’s announcement, the stage is set for another thrilling edition of The International. The tournament is returning to Seattle after a six-year gap, and Dota 2 fans can look forward to witnessing some of the best teams compete against each other. Climate Pledge Arena, which is the first zero-carbon arena in the world, will host the event and provide an excellent experience for the audience. As we await further updates on The Road to the International, Dota 2 fans worldwide eagerly anticipate the 27th to 29th of October when the champion of TI12 will be crowned.
