The protagonist, Jaehwan, spoke with the Soul King, Catastrophe, in the previous chapter. He went to the “Palace of Death” in search of the Soul King so that he may strike a bargain with him. It’s only when Jaehwan says anything that Soul King agrees to listen to him. However, he should ensure that Catastrophe benefits from any deal he strikes.

We saw in an earlier chapter of The World After the Fall that the Soul King would be open to Jaehwanand his proposal. If it doesn’t meet my high standards, you won’t make it out of here alive. Jaehwan isn’t frightened by Soul King’s terrifying appearance because he is already aware of it. The conversation continues with Jaehwan telling the Soul King about “the promise he made to Mullark 900 years ago.”
This caught the Soul King off guard to the point where he asked, “How do you know about that?”His focus has recently shifted to Jaehwan. Jaehwan says something unexpected that catches Soul King off guard. As part of the bargain, he agrees to accept the pledge (which dates back to when the Soul King formed a pact with Mullark).
Siren awakens to find that Jaehwan has already gone inside, marking the beginning of the second half of chapter 82. Nobody could believe it, and the question “Why are they here?” circulated amongst them all. The monarch’s arrival abruptly changes the tranquil atmosphere, and their presence sends shockwaves through the populace.

In the next panel, we see Nokmyung Chenodo, who appears angry and distraught about the death of a loved one at Jaehwan’s hands in the prior chapter. He has upset the Emerald Bug Family and will now have to face the consequences.
