Suzume film’s English dub clip released ahead of North America opening

IGN has released an English dub clip for Makoto Shinkai’s Suzume film. Previously, the cast of the film was also revealed.

IGN has released an English dub clip for Makoto Shinkai’s Suzume film. Previously, the cast of the film was also revealed. The cast members include:

  • Abby Trott as Aya
  • Jennie Kwan as Mami
  • Jake Eberle as Shige

The English dub is being directed by Bill Millsap at Bang Zoom! Studios. Eric P. Sherman and co-producers Mami Okada and Mio Moroe are producing the English dub. Okada will also serve as the casting director. The production management will be taken care of by Jessica Peace.

The film will release in North America on April 14. Crunchyroll, Sony Pictures Entertainment, Wild Bunch International, and Eurozoom started showing the film across the world except in Asia.

Crunchyroll is taking care of North American distribution, while it will join Sony Pictures Entertainment in handling distribution in Latin America, South America, Australia, New Zealand, the Middle East, Africa, and some regions in Europe.

The film will be re-released in French and German-speaking areas of Europe. The film is planned to screen in 199 countries and territories. The film was released on November 11 and sold 1.33 million tickets to earn 1.88 billion yen in its first three days.

Blue Giant anime film rakes in 1 billion yen

According to the staff for the anime film Blue Giant manga, the film has managed to earn over 1 billion yen (around US $7.48 million) as of April 9. The movie managed to sell over 690,000 tickets as of April 12.

The film’s animation studio NUT drew a new visual featuring the in-story JASS trio to celebrate the milestone. The film was released in Japan on February 17 and earned 116,561,020 yen in its first three days.

Yuzuru Tachikawa directed the film at studio NUT. NUMBER 8, the editor of the Blue Giant manga and the story director for the Blue Giant Supreme manga, has written the screenplay for the new anime. TOHO Animation is distributing the film.

World-famous pianist Hiromi Uehara composed the original music that the film’s in-story jazz trio JASS performs. He also played the piano for the character Yukinori Sawabe. Saxophonist Tomoaki Baba played the saxophone for the character Dai. Shun Ishiwaka, the drummer of the Millennium Parade brand, played drums for Shunji Tamada. Seven Seas Entertainment is publishing Ishizuka’s 10-volume Blue Giant manga series as five volumes.
