While doing so, he admits to himself that he did, in fact, just bring up her name; he takes this as further proof that he has indeed fallen in love with her.

There is no complexity to Kim Gongja’s biography. The envy, the secret, the connections, the comedy, the determination, and the joy are all there. By saying this, he implies that, unlike the cult interrogator, he did not become completely immersed in his role. This time around, he will execute his strategy just as he has in the past. With this, he is confident that he will succeed.
He adds that he wants him to do something for him if being a butler becomes all-consuming. He tells Jack that when his synchronization is perfect, he probably won’t be able to hear his preferred option anymore.
He admits that, despite his many talents, he is likely to overlook opportunities to put them to use. He insists on doing all in his power to stop him from achieving perfect synchronicity.
In addition, he explains that 99% is the final defense and that he cannot go anymore lest it appear that he is going past 99%. He demands that Jack do everything it takes to stop him.
However, Jack questions whether or not the situation is even possible, saying that he finds it hard to believe that he is worried about it given that he has such a strong intellect of his own.
Then Gongja declared that he was going to consciously increase his synchronization rate to that point, thus the possibility existed. But Jack discloses that if he does that, he will fail this stage and remain trapped in this reality. He responds that he does not yet know why he is acting this way. Only if no one else is aware of his strategy will he be able to use it to bypass the tower’s defenses and proceed to the next level.
