On April 24, he made his Stories from the Outlands cinematic debut, giving fans more than two weeks to get to know a new character. Season 17 of Apex begins with a brand-new legend and an arsenal that is fully loaded:

Since Catalyst joined the cast in season 15 and no new legends were added for season 16, Ballistic is the first new legend to join since that time. August “Ballistic” Brinkman, heir to a sizable fortune and a seemingly even greater propensity for self-destruction, rose to prominence in the Apex Games’ forerunner, the Thunderdome Games.

His flashy (if individualistic) playing style has made him well-known. Ballistic met the siblings Kit Siang and Sok Leng in the arena, and he later wed Sok Leng. Due to a mistake by Ballistic, Kit Siang lost his life in battle, and the daredevil millionaire retired.

Ballistic spent many years out of the spotlight. But when his son Nathaniel expressed interest in participating in the Apex Games, he struck a deal with Duardo Silva, agreeing to fight again as long as his son remained outside of the competition. The legends had better keep an eye out because the Refined Gunslinger is now bringing some of his old tricks to the Apex Games.

Ballistic has a lot of offensive potential and a little bit of support thanks to his abilities. Ballistic has the potential to make a name for himself in the Apex Games, just as he did in the Thunderdome Games decades earlier, whether it be by bringing in a third weapon, heating up enemies’ guns, or temporarily giving his allies infinite ammo.

However, Ballistic isn’t the only brand-new (or updated) feature that has been added to the game this year. The divisive Fragment will now be a Monument POI in World’s Edge, complete with a Museum dedicated to the past of the Apex Games, the Thunderdome Games, and even some hints to Apex’s development. Lava City will be replaced by a new neighborhood called Stacks, where the notorious “streamer building” will relocate.

Numerous smaller updates have also been made to World’s Edge. There will be areas of the map where the lava is completely walkable, so you won’t have to worry about getting burned or using up all of your healing supplies. A new prized central platform in the Harvester became available as a result of the new lava. Players looking for loot will notice a new vault in the Skyhook tunnel, and the Mirage a Trois, the most notorious boat in the Outlands, will remain in World’s Edge.

Weapon mastery is a new progression system that awaits both newcomers and seasoned players. With your preferred weapons, you can advance through the ranks and earn some cosmetics and bragging rights. Players can hone their skills on the updated Firing Range, which gives them more chances to practice recoil patterns or simply take aim at the irate dummies in the arena.

Players can now test out the numerous changes coming to Arsenal for themselves after a protracted wait filled with teasers. There is certain to be something in store for all playstyles this season, whether you’re rushing to get Ballistic in your matches or just want to show off your new Support abilities.
