Engage in Combat Esports didn’t factor into the LAN picture at the start of the EMEA Pro League Regional Finals; they were ranked 11th overall. SAF needed to win the lobby to earn enough Circuit Points to qualify for the Split Two Playoffs since only the top ten professional Apex Legends teams were traveling to London.

But in game nine, the final match of the Regional Finals, a game-ending bug struck the team, ending their run in Split Two and their opportunity to represent EMEA internationally. If you need more information about An old Apex Gravity Cannon bug preventing the unlucky ALGS team from a LAN spot, read carefully, and don’t forget to share with your friends.

An old Apex Gravity Cannon bug prevents the unlucky ALGS team from a LAN spot:

SAF used Valkyrie’s Skyward Dive on Storm Point with the goal of extending their rotation path across the map by landing at one of the gravity cannons. Pawel “lighT” Haratyk, the SAF’s Seer, landed on the cannon and passed away instantly after it fired, putting his teammates in a terrible situation through no fault of their own.

SAF lost their final match with zero points after being eliminated in 19th place by Myztro Gaming despite returning the canon to recover lighT’s respawn banner. SAF finished the Regional Finals in 12th place, trailing their direct rivals Ethernal’s fourth-place finish and Aurora Gaming’s sixth-place finish. Game nine proved to be SAF’s worst performance of the entire split. In the overall leaderboards, both teams outpaced SAF by three circuit points, taking the final two LAN spots for the Split Two Playoffs and eliminating SAF from the race.

Several teams in previous ALGS competitions have raised concerns about Valkyrie’s ultimate because of the potential for the ability to contain game-breaking bugs. The Moist Esports team from APAC-S encountered a similar bug at the 2023 Split One Playoffs, almost ending their tournament run. All of Moist was teleported to the map’s center, deep inside the ring, after the ultimate, where they had no chance of getting back.

However, many players and viewers questioned the competitive integrity and ruling for a team affected by game-breaking bugs. Despite the setbacks, Moist still made it to the Playoff’s grand finals by performing well in the remaining games. On social media, Moist’s users discussed similar bugs they had encountered, but Respawn never formally acknowledged or commented on the issue. Pro gamers and content producers have publicly discussed the numerous bugs and exploits that are rife in Season 16 of Apex, calling it “the worst state the game has been in.”

Many players have been wondering if there will ever be a fix for Valkyrie’s bugs because audio issues for numerous weapons and actions, cheaters and server problems ruining the ranked ladder, and a lack of communication from Respawn have all gotten worse each season.

From July 13 to July 16, the Split Two Playoffs will take place, featuring 40 international teams from the five Pro Leagues and 10 EMEA representatives. By participating in the EMEA Last Chance Qualifier, an end-of-year competition for 40 teams that have not yet qualified for the 2023 Championship by Circuit Points, SAF will have one more opportunity to compete at the 2023 Championship. The top two teams will be awarded the final two EMEA Championship spots, giving SAF one more opportunity to showcase their abilities and secure their first LAN appearance in Apex history.
