Previously in chapter 11

In Chapter 11, we find Ruri and her friend Yuka making their way to school on a wet day. In response to Yuka’s question on Ruri’s weekend, Ruri describes the rigorous training she had with her mom and how it helped alleviate her static discharge problem for a while.

Another student, Kashiro, shows off her new hairdo at the school entrance. Ruri finds herself perplexed and wonders if she had unintentionally insulted Maeda when they encountered each other inside the school. Maeda seems to disregard Ruri. Ruri explains to her classmate how she chose her option before class started, but her classmate still doesn’t get it.

Due to Ruri’s recent absence, the teacher starts class and announces the start of training for the forthcoming sports day, catching her unaware. The impending midterm examinations are something that the teacher lets the students know about, which just adds to Ruri’s shock.

Since Ruri has been absent for quite some time, her teacher has asked that she come into the office later to talk about the sports day, which she has been completely unaware of. At the same time, Ruri tells her pals about her power to discharge electricity. She explains that her body has an organ that stores electrical energy from the air, and that this energy can become toxic if it builds up, which is what causes the static discharge.
