The Sword Graveyard arc is an inversion of conventional storytelling conventions. The “tomb” actually just holds old, rusty, useless swords rather than the legendary treasures and things the protagonist and other sects are seeking. This symbolizes the architect’s scorn for violent martial artists who seek wealth and power through dishonest means.

However, the Sword Graveyard is only a red herring, as Chung Myung does not end up with either the coveted therapeutic drug or its recipe there. He figures out the true location of the medicine immortal’s tomb and cures by using his intelligence and innovative thinking to comprehend the deeper metaphors and meaning behind the tangled map. The other major religions have no idea about this new development.

Many years ago, the medicine immortal—who was also the fabled sword god—built a test and trap for egotistical martial artists called the Sword Graveyard. In another hidden place, however, he stashed the renowned pill recipe and other priceless artifacts. They thought that only a good person with no ulterior motives would be able to figure out the puzzles and locate them. as opposed to others who seek only destructive swords and strength. Chung Myung, the scoundrel, is ironically the one who succeeds in this test.
