Many readers have complained about the slow pace of the book thus far. There’s a simple explanation for why the novel focuses more on the struggle for supremacy amongst unrelated martial artists in Murim. Everything here has anything to do with the Sword Graveyard, whether directly or indirectly.
This background information is provided to us throughout the story. It’s disappointing, though, to see readers write off the chapter as a waste of time because the primary characters aren’t the focus and won’t be returning to get the treasure for a while.
We think it’s important for readers to immerse themselves in the story and see it through the author’s eyes. It’s clear that Lico Studio has great respect for the source material. We’re relieved and fortunate that Lico Studio isn’t botching this for novel fans.
Strangely, nobody seems to have seen how formidable Wudang and other forces really are. As a result, we should have a better idea of what Chung Myung encountered in the tomb.
Danger, because even though Chung Myung is incredibly powerful, he is not yet at the point where he can simply go around and slaughter every elder of every sect in the area.
After his rebirth, Chung Myung kills for the first time in a few chapters. They “helped” to stop him from killing additional people, thanks to Baek Cheon and company. Still managed to take both of their lives. When the Mount Hua Sect is attacked is the next time Chung Myung resorts to murder.
