One of the most iconic Overwatch heroes, who is popular for her ability to resurrect teammates is Mercy. She is popular due to her simple kit and playstyle, but there is more to her than meets the eye. With a low skill floor and a high skill ceiling, there is a lot players can learn from super-jumps and bunny-hops to super-jump resurrects.

Whether someone is a beginner or a more advanced Mercy player, they will find something here to help them improve. In this article, we will discuss her abilities, their specifics, how to make use of them and playstyle tips required to excel with Mercy.

Abilities

Passive: Regeneration

Self-healing: 20 per second

After not taking damage for a second, Mercy regenerates health over time. Players might not notice this ability as it is something that players do not have to manually trigger. However, it is definitely worth noting. This enables the character to stay with her team and support the while not worrying about her own health.

If players are under heavy fire, re-position to a safer location and allow the passive ability to heal players if their second support is not present or tending to another daily.

Play Style

Mercy is a support hero, player’s main role is to keep their team alive and also help them to achieve their own individual role goals. It is good to focus on their healing output when starting out as the character as well as on their ability to stay alive. More advanced Mercy players will want to squeeze in that damage boost and take out the pistol when needed.

Damage Boosting

When damage boosting as the character, it is a good idea to select a safer target like Ashe, McCree, or Widowmaker who thrive off staying in the backlines, dealing damage, and getting picks.

Targets such as Genji and Tracer are more situational as they are often diving into the opponent which could be an unsafe place for a defenseless Mercy to be flying around. Players should damage boost these targets when their team has the advantage, and when it is safe to move with them.
