Overwatch 2 players have urged Blizzard Entertainment to make the April Fools character voice lines and abilities to be permanent in the game. On March 31, Blizzard unveiled its “Very Serious” patch notes on the occasion of April Fools’ Day.

In the game’s Arcade mode, players got to hear limited-time unhinged voice lines for each character. Moreover, players gained access to new abilities and kept 50% of their ultimate charge when switching heroes.

Also, the characters’ google eye appearance was a welcomed change. The community’s appreciation of the new abilities and features led some players to hope that the developer would consider making these features a permanent addition to the game.

As for noticeable ability improvements under the “Very Serious” patch notes, Genji can heal himself by spamming “I need healing.” Furthermore, Reinhardt was given the ability to fly while chraging, and the range of Roadhog’s Chain Hook was increased by 50%.

On the Overwatch subreddit, a user suggested Blizzard kept the temporary voice lines but under different circumstances. The user also proposed a 1% chance for heroes to say the special version, but only when players opt for Quick Play and Arcade modes.

Can Overwatch 2 be played with a controller

People looking to play Overwatch 2 with a controller will find themselves lucky: the game allows controllers. In Overwatch 2’s options menu, players can find controller-specific settings that will allow them to adjust the layout exactly how they prefer.

But not every controller in the market will support Blizzard’s FPS title. If players want to play Overwatch 2 with a controller, using an official Xbox Series X|S controller is best. Since Xbox and Windows work belong to the same ecosystem, pairing the controller with a PC is easy.

As soon as the PC detects the controller and players press a button, the game’s interface will automatically swap to button prompts. It’s unknown if Overwatch 2 officially supports XInput, an app that works with Windows and detects Xbox controllers automatically.

The game also works with modern PlayStation controllers and third-party PC controllers, but players will be required to make some adjustments. Once players attach a wired PlayStation 4 DualShock controller, Overwatch 2 will automatically recognize it, but might not show PS-specific button inputs. Players will still be able to use a PS4 DualShock, but they will have to figure out which button does what or re-map them.

Sadly, Nintendo Switch controllers aren’t supported by Overwatch 2 on PC. The USB Switch Pro controller might get recognized by Windows, but Overwatch 2 might not be able to recognize it right away and might not respond to the player’s inputs.
