The new Enhancements for Season 9 don’t end the excitement. In a recent blog post titled “Director’s Take” Aaron Keller the game’s director, hinted at additional improvements that fans of Overwatch 2 might expect in Season 10. A sneak peek of what lies ahead is provided here:

1. Grouping Flexibility: Skill-based grouping limitations are over. With the ability for players of all skill levels to collaborate in Competitive Play, Overwatch 2 is bringing in a new era of inclusion. Narrow skill range groups will now fight against peers, whereas wide skill range groups will only be paired against similar opponents.

2. Enhanced Matchmaking: Greetings to matches that are more balanced. Better matching algorithms will make sure, that groups with a large range of skill levels compete against groups with a similar skill range and that groups with a narrow skill range compete against groups with an equivalent degree of talent.

3. Comprehensive Progress Tracking: The Competitive Progress panel has improved features that let you keep track of your Competitive adventure. Overwatch 2 provides players, with a wealth of information about their performance ranging from thorough match histories and educational scorecards to role-specific titles and an extensive scoreboard rank range.

4. Top 500 Refinements: Anticipate major improvements for the prestigious Top 500 tier which will further hone the competitive environment after Season 10.

The Season 9 Competitive modifications have received overwhelmingly good reaction, according to Aaron Keller, with Competitive Play now accounting for an astounding 45% of all played hours. With this rise, Competitive Play has become the preferred option and has surpassed Quick Play for the first time in Overwatch 2’s existence, which is a noteworthy milestone. Keller explains, nevertheless, that this change actually represents a striking increase in Competitive Play participation rather than a fall in Quick Play involvement.
