Kadokawa and TROYCA unveiled additional staff members, a “machine visual,” a new promotional video, and the premiere date in October for their joint project called Overtake! The upcoming anime will revolve around Formula 4 (F4) racing, a popular motorsport. The protagonist Kōya Madoka, a freelance photographer, faces a creative block and decides to visit the Fuji International Speedway to gather material for his next story.
There, he crosses paths with the talented high school F4 racer Haruka Asahina, and feels a sudden rush of emotions that he hasn’t experienced in a while. Madoka decides to support Haruka and his team, “Komaki Motors,” in their pursuit of success and helps Haruka chase his dreams.

The original work for the anime is credited to Kadokawa and TROYCA. As previously announced, the director for the anime is Ei Aoki, who is known for his work on Fate/Zero, Aldnoah.Zero, Girls Bravo, and Wandering Son, among others.
Ayumi Sekine, who has worked on the IDOLiSH7 franchise and Technoroid Overmind, is overseeing the series scripts, while Masako Matsumoto is in charge of adapting Takako Shimura’s original character designs for animation. The project is being supervised by Katsuhiko Takayama, who has worked on series composition for Aldnoah.Zero and Two Car.
According to 2023’s May issue of Kodansha’s Monthly Young Magazine, Jaku Amano’s Adou manga will soon be released in the US and France. The magazine also confirmed the manga’s Spanish, Italian, and German editions would be released soon. However, the magazine did not reveal which company will release the manga’s English dub.
Amano launched the manga in Monthly Young Magazine in June 2019. Kodansha published the manga’s sixth compiled book volume on October 20. The company will publish the seventh volume of the manga on May 18.
