Previously in Episode 5

Start of the episode focused on Nirei and the five Bofurin fighters making it to the Shishitoren headquarters. When Sakura confronts Nirei about his lack of fighting ability, the child explains that he is still a part of Bofurin and is eager to learn from Sakura, whom he admires, despite his weakness.

When the party finally gets to the arena, they’ll see a throng of Shishitoren members, all pumped up to see the bouts. While Tomiyama Choji, commander of the Shōhitoren, appears eager to face Umemiya, Togame Jo cautions him not to go ahead of the other fighters because their battle will be the grand finale. The rest of the cast agrees with Shishitoren’s Arima when he requests whether his battle with Sugishita might come first.

Before Sugishita steps onto the platform, Sakura warns him that he will stop fighting this man if he loses. After that, Sugishita steps onto the stage, and Arima attempts to throw him off by frantically shouting Umemiya’s name, as if something were amiss. Taking advantage of Sugishita’s distraction to look away at Umemiya, he punches him in the face and warns him not to do the same during their fight.

Nevertheless, Sugishita remains unfazed and firmly grasps Arima’s hand. He proceeds to knock Arima out by slamming his head onto the stage. He then instructs Arima to use the proper honorific, “Umemiya-san,” while addressing his senior. Rather than aiding Arima, Tomiyama begins to compliment Sugishita, which Nirei finds deeply unsettling. As a result, Arima loses the fight immediately.
