In this chapter of Overgeared, we see how Greed fares on his journey through the Archipelago. Greed had no idea what to make of the location, and then there was the random task. He hadn’t bargained on an unexpected adventure that would have him fleeing thunder and lightning.
However, he was able to create a substance to deal with the lightning thanks to the poles that surrounded him. The combination of his evaluation expertise and his knowledge of crafting allowed him to construct an instrument with which he could easily avoid the lightning’s effects. At first, Greed thought the task was challenging, but once he figured out the secret, he breezed through it.
If you look, you’ll find that there are always solutions to solve the game’s challenges. The Souls-Borne games were the only ones that came close to matching their level of player expression. But we’re getting off-topic. A group of lizards confronted Greed after he had completed the lightning mission and obtained the challenge points.
In Overgeared Chapter 187, as he advances through the challenges, Greed will visit new islands. He keeps getting challenge points after completing quests, but he has no idea what they’re for. It’s unclear what, if anything, Greed will find in the special stores that pop up in response to certain trials, however such shops often include rare collectibles or items that can further a player’s mission.
The farmer’s treatment of the player who unexpectedly showed up in Greed’s kingdom and was promptly assigned to plowing the field will be interesting to observe. The series narrator himself made light of the character receiving hidden tasks designed to help him develop as a result of the show. It’s something to keep in mind for later chapters, but that time probably isn’t any time soon.
